MR. MIGUEL PANADERO

SENIOR PROGRAMME MANAGER, LEARNING LAB

Miguel Panadero joined the UNSSC in 2007 and currently serves as Senior Programme Manager for the Learning Lab. The Learning Lab’s portfolio is one of the four core pillars through which the UNSSC structures its knowledge and learning services to UN organisations and their staff. Its focus is on the development of management, communication and learning competencies through innovative uses of technology to enhance learning, areas in which Miguel has extensive experience. He has over 20 years of progressive and diversified responsibility in the field of learning and training, initially in academia but primarily in the international public sector, including field experience in conflict scenarios with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Alumni of the University of Plymouth (UK) and the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), he holds a Master of Laws and a PG Certificate in regional analysis from the University of Castille-La Mancha (Spain) and is the author of various training publications. He is an accredited (with merit) Belbin ® Team Roles facilitator and a member of the Spanish Bar Association since 1994. 



DR. JINGBO HUANG

COURSE COORDINATOR, LEARNING LAB

Dr. Jingbo Huang is the lead programme designer and coordinator of the Executive Management Development Programme. In the UNSSC's Learning Lab, her portfolio includes management programmes, innovation, and educational technology. Before moving to Turin, she was the Head of online learning, e-learning and learning management system (Inspira) in United Nations’ Office of Human Resources Management in New York. As a Learning Specialist in UNDP from 2013-2015, Jingbo has designed, developed, delivered and evaluated the UNDP signature management and leadership programmes for Resident Representatives (RRs), Deputy RRs and Operations Managers, which were described by UNDP senior managers as "having created new standard". She started her 15+ years of UN career from UNESCO in Paris as a consultant.

Jingbo holds a Doctor of Education degree from Columbia University, specialized in instructional design, online learning, and adult education. She also holds a Master’s degree in Arts Administration from Institut d’Etudes de Grenoble, France, and Bachelor degrees in Economics and French from Peking University, China.



MS. MANUELA CARBONE

COURSE ASSISTANT, LEARNING LAB

Manuela Carbone joined the UNSSC in November 2004, where she started working in the Programme Unit as Programme Assistant in the former Resident Coordinator System Support Team, which then became the UN Coherence, Development, Gender & Human Right Team. Manuela has organized and supported hundreds of workshops for the UN staff at all levels, including the Secretary General’s Retreats held in Turin. Within the Programme Unit, she then moved to the Leadership Team in 2016 and has very recently joined the Learning Lab Team.

Manuela is also a Belbin ® Team Role-accredited trainer with merit and administers the Belbin Team Role tool to UN counterparts. She is currently training become an ICF Executive Coach. 

Manuela is also a professional translator and graduated from the École de Traduction et d'Interprétation at Geneva University. Before joining the UN, she worked as a freelance translator. She is currently on the Executive Board of Turin Alzheimer’s Association as of 2009 on a voluntary basis.




DR. XUN MA (FRANK)

ASSOCIATE FELLOW, LEARNING LAB

Xun MA (Frank)  is an associate fellow at the Learning Lab of the UNSSC, specialising on instructional design. Before moving to Turin for this internship, he was in his master study in Science Education with a focus on Educational Technology in UCL Institute of Education, London. He holds a bachelor and a doctor degree in chemistry from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong SAR, China. He also spent one semester as an undergraduate exchange student in KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. He is passionate in education with great interests in online teaching and learning, and he has also got two certificates from the online platform Coursera. He is also a believer in science who always wants to do more in science communication.
